Use ShardStitch after a Devin task stalls.
Devin runs in a remote cloud workspace. ShardStitch does not pretend to repair that remote session. Once the task branch or repository is available locally, it rebuilds a trust-labeled continuation packet from the project evidence that survived.
For the separate Windsurf editor workflow, use the Windsurf support page.
What ShardStitch can carry forward.
Branch, commits, diff, and files.
Local repository evidence becomes the source of truth instead of the stalled remote transcript.
Claims stay separate from facts.
A statement that tests passed remains inferred until the output or repository verifies it.
Continue in a bounded step.
Resume with one explicit action and verification gate in Devin or another supported AI tool.
Recovery path.
Record the task URL, timestamps, visible error, and usage impact before restarting anything.
Pull or clone the current Devin branch locally and inspect Git status, diff, commits, and test output.
ShardStitch separates verified repository facts from unverified session claims, failed attempts, risks, and the next safe action.
Open a fresh task or switch tools using the packet, then run the smallest verification step first.
Devin failure guides.
Same action or sleep-wake loop
Separate the remote agent lifecycle from the branch state that may still be useful.
Cost loopBurning ACUs without progress
Stop the costly run, preserve evidence, and prepare a support-ready record.
FAQ.
Can ShardStitch repair a stuck Devin cloud session?
No. It can recover and verify the local project state after the branch is available, but the remote session remains Cognition's boundary.
Can I move the task from Devin to another AI?
Yes. Once the repository state is local, ShardStitch can prepare a continuation packet for another supported target.
Primary sources and delivery boundary.
Cognition's Devin Session Tools describes the remote IDE, shell and browser, while its usage documentation explains session metering and idle behavior (checked September 28, 2026). Enterprise accounts use Agent Compute Units; self-serve accounts use included quota and on-demand credits. These sources describe Devin's own environment, not a ShardStitch ability to repair a remote session. ShardStitch's recovery boundary begins when the branch or repository is available locally.
