# ShardDesign SEO Guardrails: planned scope

Canonical page: https://shardstitch.com/design/seo/
Product status: https://shardstitch.com/design/

ShardDesign's Guardrails MCP is planned, not publicly available. It is intended to help a connected AI assistant review a new or existing website for evidence-backed content and technical search risks. ShardStitch's current AI coding handoff product does not perform this audit.

## Intended review

- Inventory accessible URLs and their distinct user purposes. Flag pages that could not be checked.
- Identify repeated main-content passages, overlapping intent, doorway candidates, unsupported claims, stale dates and mismatched citations. Shared navigation or a common layout is not itself a violation.
- Show affected URLs and exact evidence, separate observations from hypotheses, and propose page-specific repairs for owner approval. Do not automatically merge or redirect pages.
- Verify approved changes on the live site and compare complete search-performance periods where authorized data is available.

Official Google and Bing guidance should be checked at the time of review; confirmed Google updates belong to the Search Status Dashboard. Third-party volatility reports are context, not confirmation of a policy action. A traffic decline alone does not establish that a site violated a spam policy, and a review cannot determine the cause of a search engine's internal ranking decision. No tool can guarantee indexing, AI citations, impressions, clicks or recovery.
