Use ShardStitch with Perplexity.

Perplexity is a web research destination, not a local checkout reader. ShardStitch can prepare a reviewed, pasteable brief from project evidence, but you decide what to send to the service.

After-death behavior: Partial. Disk-truth recovery works, but web session state capture depends on browser availability.

Integration paths.

Hand-off in

Paste the generated continuation prompt.

This is how the next Perplexity session receives the recovered working state.

MCP

No native MCP path for Perplexity web listed.

When supported, Perplexity can call ShardStitch locally instead of relying only on pasted context.

Session recovery

Paste-based - ShardStitch prepares a verified continuation packet for this tool, with local recovery where available.

Setup path.

Frame a research question.

Identify the exact library, version, error, or decision that needs outside evidence. Keep unrelated project files out of the brief.

Review the packet.

Generate it locally, remove secrets and private code, then paste or attach only the excerpts you intend to share.

Verify back in the repository.

Check cited guidance against the relevant version and run the local test. A web answer does not prove the implementation works.

Primary source and delivery boundary.

Perplexity's File Uploads documentation, last modified September 7, 2026 and checked September 28, 2026, describes attaching text and code to a session. Long files may be selectively extracted rather than read in full. This supports supplying project evidence, not an automatic connection to your local checkout or a native ShardStitch MCP integration.

Prepare a research-focused packet.

Include the precise question, relevant code excerpts, dependency versions and the result of the last local check. Ask Perplexity to distinguish sourced documentation from suggestions about your implementation. Verify proposed changes in the repository before accepting them; a cited answer does not prove that the code compiles or passes tests.

Review the packet before pasting or attaching it. ShardStitch generates the recovery state locally, but sending that packet to Perplexity shares its contents with the service. Remove secrets, customer information and unrelated private code. A pasted brief carries supplied evidence, not the lost conversation or an unsaved remote workspace.

Limits to know.

Perplexity web has no listed native ShardStitch MCP pickup path. It cannot inspect your local Git diff unless you supply that information. A rate limit or missing browser session does not erase saved project state, but unsaved chat context may be unavailable.

Resume this workflow.

If Perplexity returns a 429, use the rate-limit guide to preserve the research question and sources. Continue locally until access returns, then send only a reviewed brief rather than the full private checkout.

Best use case.

Using Perplexity for research-heavy continuation from verified repo state.

FAQ.

Does ShardStitch upload code to use Perplexity?

Packet generation is local. If you paste or attach the packet in Perplexity, you send that content to Perplexity. Review it before sharing; local recovery does not make the receiving web service local.
